Another Airport Extreme issue...can't SEND e-mail...worked fine with my old Linksys router...I have three other Macs that can all send e-mail with no problem...when I eliminate the AE and connect directly to the Comcast cable modem, it works fine.
What is the Airport Extreme doing to my outgoing e-mails [on only one of four computers]???
Very weird and very frustrating.

I can't get the AE to replace my Linksys. It refuses to connect to my ISP using the static IP information I need to use to connect. The Linksys never asked once for a "Router Address" to work perfectly, and the Apple device won't let me change its settings without one! ARGH!

As darcy points out in another thread here, "router address" for the AE is what the Linksys calls its "gateway." This makes sense, but it would be good for Apple to stop coming up with different terms for everything, when the rest of the industry is pretty consistent about terminology.

Yeah, that was my solution in the end. Putting the Gateway IP in that field fixed my problem. I lost 2 hours to that nomenclature switch.

Well in this case the "router address" and a "gateway IP" are pretty much the same thing since the router is your gateeway. But I agree, all the confusion this is causing is indeed unnecessary. Maybe Apple could at least show the other commonly used terms in tooltips.
