Apple on Monday released an updated "developer preview" of OS X Server 3.1, which updates support for OS X 10.9.2 (and requires it in order to run) and makes some minor changes in the recent Profile Manager overhaul. The new build is identified as 13S4122, up 21 builds from the previous beta, which was released in mid-February. As 10.9.2 is now officially out, Apple is likely pushing to release the final 3.1 server update soon.

The OS X Server 3.1 preview requires OS X 10.9.2 to be installed, meaning that MacBook Pros and iMacs from mid-2007, Mac Pros from early 2008, Aluminum MacBooks and MacBook Airs from late 2008, and Mac minis and Xserves from early 2009 and newer are required. According to the seed notes, the new build contains changes to the Profile Manager's new My Devices feature, providing portal access restrictions and device enrollment restrictions which are available in Users and Groups.

In addition, the Activation Lock Bypass Code is also now retrieved automatically upon enrollment of supervised devices, and developers are asked to focus their testing on these areas. Only one known issue is listed, a flaw where Profile Manager will not function following an upgrade or migration from OS X Server 2.x. This issue, according to Apple, does not affect an upgrade or migration from OS X Server 3.0 or later.

Developers can obtain the latest version through Apple's Mac Developer Center.
