Hey guys!
I think Camino is one of the greatest browsers ever but the forward and back buttons are the ugliest i ever seen. Someone ideas to replace them?

I replaced mine with the ones out of Omniweb, together with a few older icons (for things such as the Home icon).

It's easy to do. Even easier using Candybar or you can do whole sets of icons with CaminoIcon. You can find a list of other toolbar themes for it here.

I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think that Caminicon isn't compatible with the 0.8 and above versions of Camino. Caminicon hasn't been updated in almost 2 years...

Drag the Camino program onto the App Extras well of Candybar then make changes.

Yep, CaminIcon still works just fine.

If anyone is interested, I've compiled a collection of Camino icon sets at my site. I didn't create any of them, I just put them together.

you should include Japsers graphite icons in your list too.

With Candybar you can use any Safari theme as well. Just runn the icons through Pic2Icon, then open Candybar and drag the Camino program onto the App Extras well, and finally grag the Safari icons onto whichever Camino icons you wish to replace.

Camino has moved to ass-ugly jelly-bean tabs. How can I go back to the ones that where smooth metal goodness?

I'm using the latest version, and the tabs are just like Safari's and look nothing like jellybeans...

You've gotta use the latest nightlies to see the new tabs, which you can get here

Or if you have a PPC7450, you can get the latest nightlies from my site, optimized for that specific processor

OR, if you have a PPC750 G3, PPC7400 G4 (older), PPC7450 G4 (newer), or PPC970 G5, you can get optimized nightlies for those processors here

Here's what I'm seeing in the newest "stable" version (0.8.3, pictured) and nightlies. Inset is an older version when the tabs looked nice.

The "old" nicer looking (Safari-like) tabs were only in the nightly builds while the Tic-Tac tabs were in the "stable builds." Weird.

The old (i.e. like normal Mac 10.3 tabs) are in the trunk releases (8.whatever). The trunk releases are just bug fxes, stable etc. For all the fun you gotta get the nightlies - which have had the new tabs for ages (since about October I think).

So the ones you call new, are acutally very old.

Get the nightlies from the lovely new Camino site: http://www.caminobrowser.org/

Uncle Asad probably described it best on Mozillazine:

"Centered/Aqua tabs = old tabs, 0.8.x branch only
Left-aligned/Grey tabs = new tabs, nightly builds, trunk, and 0.9 release and beyond"

I really like the look 'OmniAqua' theme brings to Camino, tabs are clean and flat.

BTW, have you guys found a nice replacement application icon for Camino ?

I like it too Angel, however I don't feel that Camino is in need of a replacement icon.
