when i try to download windows media player it dosn't work beacuse the icon for it it just a blank page. it also says somthing about it not being scriptable. what would i have to do to download it. thanks

you should get Stuffit Expander 10 from http://www.stuffit.com/mac/expander/download3.html - that should do it.

Edit.... foolish me. you clearly state that you can't download the app. hmm.. have you tried getting it from MacUpdate or VersionTracker ? Where are you trying to download it from ?

My advice - don't even bother with WiMP. It is by far and away one of the worst applications on the Mac and that is not being extremist.

Your alternatives are to get VLC or Mplayer (both free and both worth having anyway but they don't play all WMV) or pay $9 for the Flip4Mac WMV player which will let you use Quicktime to view non-DRMed WMV files and works extremely well 98% of the time.

Search versiontracker.com or macupdate.com for them.
