I'll be interested to hear people's answers, because I rarely play computer RPGs, only console games. The ones I've tried have been kind of wretched.

Along that line, my favorite three console RPG's are the following:

1. Dragon Quest® VIII: Sora to Umi to Daichi to Norowareshi Himegimi (Japanese version)
2. Final Fantasy® XI Online
3. Final Fantasy Tactics™ (Japanese version)

Whenever possible, I play only the original Japanese versions.

That's strange. Have you tried out all the expansions for both titles?

Baldur's Gate™ Expansion: Tales of the Sword Coast™ (Mac) is an expansion for the original Baldur's Gate™ (Mac).

Neverwinter Nights™: Shadows of Undrentide™ and Neverwinter Nights™: Hordes of the Underdark™ are both expansions for the original Neverwinter Nights™. There are also a number of Premium Neverwinter Nights™ Modules available (some of which may requires customization to be used on Mac OS X). Have you finished all of them?

The ridiculus use of ™, ® and © and you forget that Mac™, Macintosh™ and PowerBook™ are in fact ™

tsk tsk. When you can't even know what is trademarked and what is not, then please spare us.

OT:

1. Baldur's Gate
2. Deus Ex
3. Diablo 2

cheers

Oh, no, I deliberately omitted those trademarks because they are obvious. As a matter of policy, I usually omit trademarks for Apple® products on Macintosh® forums (with the exception of this post, just to prove a point).

Besides, it's not "ridiculus" [sic]--check out Sun - Terms of Use - D. Proper Trademark Attribution: Symbols and Legends. I'm just choosing, as a semi-professional writer, to generalize Sun's (because Sun does not require use of the '®' symbol with their company name unless it is accompanied by their logo, I omit it deliberately here) guidelines when referring to all other non-Apple® trademarks as well.

Tsk tsk. When you can't even know how to spell "ridiculous," please spare those of us who choose to Think different®. The Apple® Web page on that slogan has now been simplified, but when I first quoted it in a thread on January 27, 2004, at 01:59 PM, it used to read as follows:

Here’s to the crazy ones.

The misfits.

The rebels.

The troublemakers.

The round pegs in the square holes.

The ones who see things differently.

They’re not fond of rules.

And they have no respect for the status quo.

You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them,

disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them.

About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them.

Because they change things.

1. NWN
2. Fallout 2
3. ?

Everybody seems to love Baldur's Gate 2, but after having played NWN the interface was too much of a step backwards for me to like it.

1. Final Fantasy XI (my current, horrible, evil, 3 year addiction)

2. Final Fantasy Tactics (Original on PS1, none of that GBA crap)

3.......hmm.... I got really into Final Fantasy X.

I never really played any RPG's until my friend got me hooked on Tactics...

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Knights of the Old Republic yet. I thought it was pretty great.

Hmmm... KOTOR was great the first round, but the replayability wasn't all that great. NWN was better at that. Deus Ex is a great game, but RPG? Maybe. And I suppose Chrono Trigger isn't exactly a Mac game, even though I almost only played it on a Mac, so...

Anything made by Bioware is just fantabulous.

I wish Bethesda would support Mac with their Elder Scrolls series. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is just too good a game not to be on Mac.
