Ha! I remember when the word, "Queer" was offensive when referring to homosexual males.
Now it's on EVERYONE'S lips!
Pansy? Pffft.
Appreciate the reply, though.

Yawn... at least this post isn't locked.
So anyway, yah I gotta find a new church to attend since apparently I'm a divisive liar. Apparently the pastor did not say that I would molest children, apparently I could not be alone with any of them because I might set them on fire.

You're not making any sense lately. First you're saying that I'm some sort of massive homohater (which obviously isn't true, and frankly though I've had unpopular views I've never in my life as far as I know hated a gay person, at least nobody I knew was gay.) And now you're saying that I'm the least worse?
I mean I've always thought I was a pretty nifty Christian too but...

Actually that's not true, there's a guy from France who's actually at school here and he's insanely hot. He actually always comes up and puts his hand on my shoulder or back or something, some days I wonder if he's hitting on me... if he was, huge confidence booster.

OH did I mention people from the church have begun posting on my blog.
"Here's a bible verse that condemns homosexual behaviour! Since I'm pretty sure you're doing that cause I'm a freaking moron!"
The best part is they quoted a passage talking about how you're blessed when people persecute you for your faith. It's like... moron, one person can not persecute a group of 280 people!

Seriously, Salty, I believe this was a test balloon. And you DO have issues.
From all my experience, Christians that do argue, bicker and talk SO much about gays have serious issues. Get help.

I have had arguments with a few Christians about the way they single out gays.
As if they were somehow better than they were.
Kinda have to knock em down off their high horse and tell remind them we are all in the same boat.

Ha, I had a discussion with a female youth sponsor today. Apparently being gay is a sin. Like, just being, and being gay. I guess in her mind the only way for me to not sin is to kill myself. Fortunately for her I'm not a moron.
Sigh... haha it's funny watching them go into damage control mode. I'm tempted to ask at school what would happen to someone if they were publically out at school.

Why would I like those movies? (I haven't heard of either of them)
Oh and, that IS an old photo, my new glasses are way sexier, and my face has lost some pounds.
And what the heck, I'm not trying to back peddle, I was joking and giving all the people that thought it was a joke a poke. Sheesh!
Lastly, frick... I've decided everyone from my old church that was in leadership... are far more legalistic and lemming like than I ever realized. That's some tight knit leadership. Even when it's blatant that something was done wrong, they don't admit anything.

When have I pretended that I'm going about this in the best way possible. That said, I ask you. If you gave 2 years of your life, every friday during the school year to help, and give of yourself, so that you could help influence and make the lives of a bunch of kids better. Don't you think that you'd be a bit pissed off when you're told that none of that matters because of something that you can't change? (Again the porn thing was just the excuse, all the way back in September the Sr. Pastor told his niece that he didn't think I'd be at the church much longer)

Dude, even looking at it from here with the gay thing completely left out of the equation, it's been obvious for a while that you haven't been fitting in with the church. It's been like you want to do things your way and won't be told when you're doing them incorrectly: you're right, they're wrong - all the time... ...you've done it again right here by assuming that you're making the lives of a bunch of kids better (by what metric?) by your influence and that those kids will have crappy lives now the church has canned you.
Now, if I'm getting that from the other side of the Atlantic just from reading a few forum posts, how much more obvious would it be to folks you see in real life every week?
Seriously, if an employee gave me the 'tude you've been giving them I'd be looking for any excuse to can their ass. And this, I believe, is what this is really about - you aren't getting canned because you're gay but rather that it's simply a good excuse for them to finally be free of your histrionics.
Don't take this as my knocking you for the sake of it: this is how I see the situation and I'm telling you for your own good.

Not that I disagree that Salty has some major issues but I'm pretty damn sure the church would have booted him JUST for being gay. I have seen it before.

Some churches would, and some wouldn't. I agree with you that Salty's church sounds like one of the ones that would kick him out just for being gay. But there are others which would welcome him with open arms, even among those churches that reject the morality of sex between persons of the same gender. Quite a few, in fact, would say that he's handling his discovery in precisely the right way.

I have a feeling that the ones that would accept him would just want him there to "Cure" him.

Again, some probably would. Others, as I mentioned, believe that he's handling his discovery in exactly the right and Godly way. Such churches might offer condolences or encouragement from time to time, since it's a very hard path that he's chosen to follow. But other than that, I doubt they would say very much.
I'm not really trying to contradict you; the stereotype you promote is, sadly, true often enough that it's worth taking into consideration. What I'm trying to do is press the point that although it's common, it's not quite universal. If he wishes to remain a Christian -as it seems he does- then there are churches which would be happy to take him in.

Well of course it is some. I know lots of non-catholic churches that are openly accepting to gays.
My gay Catholic buddy says he told his church, they are really unhappy about it but haven't thrown him out.

This is all very strange to me. If he really is gay (which I'm not sure at all if I believe), why would he subscribe to a faith that most likely will conflict with his natural instinct?
It's like a fascist skinhead finding out that he's a Jew, accepting it, and then still wanting to hang out with his NAZI buddies. It most likely ain't gonna work.

That was exactly my argument with my Ex. He said it is because he is "spiritual and believes in God". I said fine, then can't you choose some other religion that doesn't support taking away your human rights?
Drove me nuts.

not all sections of the Christian church are hostile to homosexuality. Also, there are many Christian scholars who disagree with the anti-homosexuality interpretation of the standard bible phrases traditionally picked out to condemn homosexuality. Christianity and homosexuality are in no way mutually exclusive, it's just some subsections of the Christian faith that are.

As I've said before, whether the Bible actually says homosexuality is a sin is not clear cut. It seems likely that Paul didn't approve of it (he barely approved of sex at all), but the only supposed references to homosexuality in the New Testament either don't say it's a sin or don't explicitly say "homosexuality."
