I sent my PB15 in for repair on Tuesday, and got it back this morning from Texas. Talk about fast! I am impressed!

Anyway, it went in because it would restart by itself, black screen of death, etc. Also because of the famous uneven illumination problem. I am curious to know what they replaced, and I can only make out one of the five items listed on the N/C invoice. They are:

630-4721 PCBA,MLB 1.25GHZ,PB15"
614-0310 Assy,inverter,piezo,tokin,pb15"
603-1679 Clutch Assy,LT,Purch,PB15"
603-1680 Clutch Assy,RT,Purch,PB15"
333-0372 Mod,512MB,DDR333,CL2.5,HYNIX,200P,SODIMM

Logic board, inverter board (supplies power and signal to the screen), the clutches that hold the screen, and a stick of RAM. I might be wrong on the clutches, but that's my best guess w/out digging out service source...
All opinions are entirely those of my employer. It's not my fault.

You're right on the clutches. Adjusting my screen used to be like driving a car with the parking brake on. Now, it's super-smooth.

The inverter only supplies high voltage to power the backlight. The graphics signalling goes through a separate cable.
