Like LOTR, if you're familiar with the nuances of the original story (read the books/comics), you got a lot more out of this move because they made sure to add things only us Batman D0rks would appreciate and notice.

I just saw this the other night. I was impressed! The previews really sucked, but the movie was very good. I loved the Scarecrow, but I didn't think he got to do enough. I'm not a big fan of multiple villains in a movie like this. Word to the whoever said Bale looked weird in the cowl. Katie Holmes wasn't bad at all. The movie was very slow to start, but I really enjoyed it. OTOH, better than Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2? No way in hell!
