The rubber around the dock connector on my bumper blew out, so you can apparently expect about a year of use out of one.

Year old case reviews .

My Griffin Reveal Etch is still fine, if anything the rubber edge has expanded a little and there's a tiny bit of movement of the phone inside the case.

My mates Speck case with the fabric back. Looks more worn, the back is fraying around the edges.

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

Gawd... I suck at titling threads. That would have been 10 times better.

In fact, I'll bug the mods.

My Bumper is fine, if a little looser-fitting than a year ago.

My Speck PixelSkin HD is good-as-new. Solid. Perfect.

My Speck Fitted shell is structurally good-as-new, but the fabric(ish) back isn't as vibrant. No matter how clean your hands, that's likely to happen after awhile. It's still one of my favorite cases.

My Griffin Reveal Etch - Graphite was garbage from the start. The soft rubber sides were so loose and wobbly, the case was just useless. I got this one free from the iPhone 4 Case Program.

Protip... Brick-and-mortar AT&T stores sometimes have not new anymore iPhone cases for clearance as low as $5. These are cases that went for $29-$39 when released. I pick up spares whenever I see they have something decent. At that price, it's a non-decision.

Curiously, my new bumper was looser fitting out of the box than my original ever got. Nothing problematic (yet), but after a year of being used to the old one, it was immediately noticeable.

Excellent tip too.

Great thread idea.

I got a graphite colored incase case for free from Apple a year ago and it is showing signs of age. The upper right corner has a crack that runs parallel to the hold button. The case doesn't clip on as well as it used to on the right side so I find myself pressing the phone in to click in a few times a day. For reference, I took the case off and cleaned it and the phone about once a month. The phone has had two small drops and the case prevented cracks to the screen both times (at the expense of a small scuff to the case). Perhaps one of the falls (neither was more than a foot or two) caused the crack in the case?
