Anyone know if OS X will boot off of an external SCSI?

Yup! I've got it running on my 9500/g3/400 off the external scsi port. It's an older 4 gig drive and works great. Even better since Newertech (RIP) released the OS X drivers for my Upgrade card

Thanks man. The should be no real speed difference, running off an external SCSI, right?

Hey guys! How did you get MOS X to recognize the Apple SCSI card??? When I first loaded MOS X, I was able to "see" my external scsi devices. Now, after a few months, I am unable to see those devices any more.
Any clues??
To be specific, I have a MO drive on an exteral scsi bus, the card was manufactured by Apple, and @ first MOS X was able to mount my MO disks w/o any problems. Now, and I couldn't tell you what's wrong or what has changed to make this stop functioning, MOS X doesn't seem to recognize the exteral scsi bus.
Is there a unix command I can run to probe the scsi bus??
Thanks ahead of time!
|
Sincerely, Allen
