I'm trying to access the decoder options for 3ivx (if they exist) so I can tell it not to play DivX files. Also, I'd like to optimize the playback performance. I've looked every where and can't seem to find out how to access the options.

Have you tried the "DivX Decoder Configuration" application in your DivX folder in Applications?
At least there are some options there...

Oooops. Sorry.
For 3ivx:
Their forums ? Or maybe there is something on the support pages. They have screenshots of 3ivx codec settings there, at least for encoding, so maybe there is something that might help you.

hope this helps

This isn't too easy, but it is possible. You'll need a resource editor like Resorcerer or ResEdit, then manually delete a couple of the 'thng' resources. The 'thng' resources are what tells the 3ivx decoder what it decodes, so search out the DivX ones (in my copy it's 'thng' resources 133-140, 147-148, 156, 165-167 and 174-181) and delete them.
You might be able to do it with HexEdit too, but as you can't see the individual resource parts I wouldn't recommend it.
