Have decided to repartition my 320Gb external hard drive as follows:

60Gb, to match my powerbook for cloning/backup.
5Gb?, minimum system install for troubleshooting
everything else for storage

Anyone know what the minimum system size is, will 5Gb be enough?

Thanks

J.

When I did a custom clean install of OS X on my PB, I managed to get it down to around 1.9GB.

Languages and printer drivers take up a lot of space. As do GarageBand loops and iMovie/iDVD themes.
