I was wondering if it is easy to remove the keys on the new Macbooks. I have a Pismo and it is pretty easy to just snap them off and on. I don't have a Macbook yet so I can't try this nor do I want to go into an Apple store and just pry one of the keys off and get caught and have to pay for it or some stupid thing like that. What I'd ultimately like to do is somehow checkerboard the keys, switching the every other key with a white/black (depending on which Macbook I get) with someone (with the opposite color) who might be willing to do the same. It would be neat to do this and remove the marking as well so they are completely blank. Anyway just a thought. Are the keys easy to remove?

No. IIRC you must open it up to do so.

Hah, that'd be a funy mod. I wonder how much just the keyboard assembly costs for the black MacBook?
You could probably spell out "Mac" on the keyboard.

It looks slightly ugly. Keep them all black and blank them.

The Aluminium keys are usually just painted plastic. You'd have to sand off any print and repaint them. Ones without backlit keyboards have printed characters on, the backlit ones are just painted.
