I bought the new iMac. Beautiful machine.
I also bought the Apple USB external modem. I am subscribed to AOL. I loaded the AOL software. I followed the instructions that came with the modem manual to connect to AOL but could not connect. I followed the instructions that came with the iMac computer, could not connect either. A message came out saying that the modem did not detect any signal.
I dialed directly the local AOL access number through the modem, and it connected, but disconnected again with a message that “authentication failed.”
I contacted AOL and indicated the problem, got no answer yet.
I know I must be doing something wrong. I will appreciate any help.
Thanks Hap
