I have installed OSX cleanly (on top of OS9) on two iceBooks and it reboots after copying files, however, when OSX.1(5J34) is selected at the startup folder, it "boots" to a grey screen and the hard drive stops spinning and all that. I have let it sit for 2 hours and it still doesnt boot. When i use the OS9 folder or an external boot device, it works fine. The first iceBook i simply erased the harddrive and reinstalled and it worked fine, but i have another 20 or so of these to go and was wondering if anyone else had the same problem, or ideally a solution. thanks!

Have you tried sticking the 10.1 CD in and just reinstalling it over the current system? The system installer is pretty smart about only updating whatever you need. Also, try running the disk scanning utility that comes on that CD (you can launch it through one of the menu bar items). Hopefully one of those will work.

I installed from the CD twice, still to no avail. I then booted with an external OS9 firewire drive and ran disk utility several times until it stopped finding problems, but that didn't fix it. Is there a firmware update that i dont know about possibly?
