my ibook g3 wont boot into os x anymore. i turn it on and i hear a croaking like song and it goes on and on until i get a screen with the folder with a question mark. i try booting os x cd to try and reformat but it wont accept it or my panther disc.
anyone know what might be wrong.

I have never heard of a sound like that in a iBook, but it is fairly common in older iMacs. Fortunetly, you can get a new HD for about $49 from www.macsales.com.

I need to know a couple of things...
Do you have a copy of Tech Tool Pro?
Do you have another Mac that you can use?
Do you have a fire wire cable with you?
I'll be waiting

i did install a new hd, but my ibook doesn't want to read any cds to install osx

how do you know that your iBook is reading the HD?
did you put the "jumpers" in Master mode?
Am I speaking chinese here?
