I found this while checking out 'Sproutcore', and man oh man. i sure as hell hope web apps of this calibre are in Apple's stratecy for .Mac/MobileMe.

Point your browser(preferably Safari 3 or Firefox 3) to 280 Slides and check out the demo, it's really impressive. no plugin required, it uses JavaScript.

If Apple offers similar apps (online versions of Keynote, Pages) that talk to files on your iDisk, i would see a heck of a lot of value in the service.

And on a more significant note, if web apps of this calibre are the future(and i happen to think they are), there could be a competitive advantage for Safari/Firefox over Explorer imo, as the JavaScript performance in explorer is subpar.

What do you guys reckon ?

The 'framework' they used sounds amazing.

That explains the '280 North' name. Apple headquarters is right off the 280 north freeway.
