AppleInsider says...does anyone care? It's a little too little too late, IMHO.

Ugh!
Audion, SoundJam (iTunes) and SoundApp (not to mention a few others) wipe that crappy thing.
WinAmp blows.

Yeah I care too. WinAmp has always been a great MP3 player for me and you can't beat the cost (free). It's got all the features of Audion and SJ without the price and fancy faces, what's wrong with that? I'd download it in a second.

Ha! If Sonique 2 ever comes out, it'll whipe the floor with everything. AND, it'll be available for Windows, Mac OS, and Linux (non-ports, the program is portable).

iTunes is free as is the scaled-down version of SoundJam...so what in god's name will MacWinAmp offer that we can't already get? A neato rectangle with 3000 rectangle skins?

I agree to mainly what's the point, but it is a software deveoper who is deciding to develop for the Mac. I'm just thinking of it that way.

wouldnt it be called "MacAmp" ?
and dont get so happy yet, what if they dont have half the features they have on the windows version? we've seen that happen with apps. like icq/yahoo/etc.
it is too late for winamp to try anything.
all iTunes has to do is come up with an update, with equalizers and plug-ins. but then it would probably take up like 40 mb of ram

Please, the guy who put his time and effort into MacAmp failed miserably so now he wants to port WinAmp to Mac in attempt to make some sort of success of his efforts. <-----that's the interesting part
WinAmp is comming to Mac <------this is the headline that doesn't deserve an entire article, it should just be a new software announcement at the most.

big deal. so what.
I think it's too late for WinAmp.
new mac users get iTunes.
Older users already have their favourite program: SJ or Audion or soundApp, etc.
winamp can go suck my wang.

I agree I have never used WinAmp. I already have SoundJam and since iTunes is free you can't beat that. Most mac Users Have either Sound Jam or Audion or both and or iTunes as well. I also agree it maybe too late for WinAmp er is it MacAmp. Dunno I'm so confused now... hehe

Dammit. Macamp= Macast. That is until Winamp threw there huge $ around and got them to change their name. Macast is the ORIGINAL Macamp........
ALWAYS.
Macast would kick the living sh*t out of winamp any day of the week.
