What is the speed of the SuperDrive? it doesn't say on Apple's site. Also can I use my plaintalk mic from my Beige G3? It would save me $70 from not having to buy a iMic.

Nope, the new G4's use a "4x" SuperDrive...straight from Apple's Site:

SuperDrive (DVD-R/CD-RW); writes DVD-R discs at 4x speed, reads DVDs at 8x speed, writes CD-R discs at 16x speed, writes CD-RW discs at 8x speed, reads CDs at 32

And that mic you already have would probably work, regardless, your best option is to TRY it before you buy a new one.

Interesting, looked at the specs for the superdrive here in Oz, for the G4 and it states 2x.

The plaintalk mics didn't work with the G4's as they had no mic input only a line level input. An iMic is probably necessary.
