Trying to upgrade my ram, because I cant stand 256 anymore. I have a 1.33 G4 ibook. Please suggest a brand of ram I should buy. Im looking to upgrade 512 worth of ram because 1 gig will be too expensive for my budget. I have no idea where to start like what do I look for, specs, will it fit, etc. Im hearing Crucial is a great brand, any others? Thanks a lot in advance...

How much you pay for that ram?

How did the Kingston ram perform?

You're not going to notice any difference in any of the rams mentioned. Go to www.newegg.com and pick out some PC2100 laptop memory.

I bought crucial.

ramseeker.com lists current RAM prices from dozens of vendors and is updated daily, at least. go there first to find best deal.

I got some "bad" memory from Crucial-- turned out it was causing kernel panics. Once I determined it was their ram, they were on it. Handled the return, replacement, shipping with flying colors. . .they actually kept nudging me to get with it, as I was dragging my feet in getting the bad ram returned.

Crucial gets high marks in my books!

The PC2700 RAM is capable of handling memory access at higher speeds than the PC2100 RAM. It is backward compatible, but not necessary, as faster speed does not necessarily indicate anything else about quality. Go with a quality brand that is AT LEAST fast enough. Also, remember that you need DDR RAM for G4 iBooks, and SDRAM for G3s. They are not at all compatible.

You can go to Kingston's site or Crucial's site and order directly from them. Both sites will walk you through the process of identifying exactly the right part for your computer.

Came up on this deal, will it work for my Ibook g4 1.33? Seems like a great deal. Thanks. Just wanted to double check before I order.

make sure you buy ram from a reliable source like crucial

other rams work, but its hit or miss, and in my case in the past, it was miss. the weird thing about it was that it worked fine for a few months, then kernel panics, and had to be sent in bc i didnt know what to do. turned out ram was faulty.

get crucial (or another recomended brand) and never look back at the cheap imitations
ibook 900 12.1" combo 640mb =)
powerbook 1.33 15" 768mb =P
