Trump obviously gets Twitter, but I'm wondering if he realizes the power of the GIF.

To be fair, I didn't quite realize it myself, as people generally try to avoid repeatedly putting themselves in GIFable situations.

I don't think the Post reporters needed Bezos to get sources. Particularly when the IC hates Trump.

Other direction.

I think that kind of thing already happened before Bezos. You'd have a harder time convincing me the reporters are in on it.

Allow me to propose an alternate theory.

What she meant to say was something along the lines of "Trump could have picked countries alphabetically and done a better job".

Instead, she said what she said, and it was utterly incomprehensible.

While any given person's intelligence will enter into how they interpret an incomprehensible statement, I posit whether the person has a dagger or an olive branch in their hand is just as important, if not moreso.

I think one would have to be blind with hatred to see it for anything the it obviously was. I think Trump is a bafoon who is absolutely terrible for the country and, to no small extent, the world. But I'm not so blinded by hatred to believe he doesn't know Israel is in the middle east.

Nothing she said squares with the idea that she expects diplomatic trips to happen in alphabetical order. You know that. Anyone with an ounce of intellectual integrity knows that. It wasn't incomprehensible, It was a joke. A poorly delivered joke, but a joke.

I had to think about it for a long time... I watched it right when it was posted here and it took me until this afternoon to put it together.

That process was helped by me liking the woman.

Why does Trudeau look like such a dork?

Edit: You like Pelosi? Really? I think the only politician I can say that I genuinely like is Rand Paul.

Well, I don't have a dagger in my hand for her yet. Admittedly, I like her less than I used to.

The only active politician I can think of I like for reals is Sanders.

I go back and forth on Paul. He's certainly one of the few unique members of Congress.

So social justice morons claimed that the rebel flag was bad to display in public, "if people want to see them they can go to museums", they said. Well, apparently even having them in museums is too much.

By degrees history is going to be erased, and regressives on the Left will rejoice. Soon they can craft a world where no one can be offended, a world so pathetic and sheltered only SJWs themselves will want to live in it. This is why you should never capitulate to ideologues. Even if you're against everything such symbols stand for, completely removing them from a society will only serve to make that society forget, dooming them to repeat the mistakes of the past.

Pretty sure at this point the only people watching CNN are those who want their bias reinforced. Their viewership is so low, they can almost address each of them by name. I can't even fathom how they're able to pay their utility bills.

FWIW, the official line is the only problem was a flag outside the museum.

The museum claims there was a request to take them all out, but the county denies it.

By my reckoning, the official denial would make it tough for the county to do anything if the museum were to stay open, flags and all.

The elite on the Left are apparently trying to incite violence now. Griffin can say and do what she wants, she has freedom of expression, but there will be repercussions for her and those like her. When even Al Franken condemns you for being sick and distasteful towards the president, you know you've done seriously ****ed up.

Ehhh...

I doubt inciting violence was her intent.

With credit to Dakar for long ago presenting to me the importance of the distinction, she was being thoughtless, not careless.

But a 'liberal elite'? Come on, you may enjoy her comedy, but would she have the notariety she does if it wasn't for her pushing the envelope? She may be polically liberal, it she calling her an elite is absurd. She's basically famous for taking her clothes off, perving on younger men, getting drunk and cursing on CNN's NYE, while telling jokes. Am I wrong here? Do any of the liberals on the board look to her as some kind of political crusader? Really, it's the equivalent of calling Toby Keith a 'conservative elite.'

I never said "liberal elite". To be liberal you must support individual liberties, and modern collectivism is antithetical to that. You can't be for limited speech (even hate speech is protected under the Constitution) and be liberal at the same time. So while I'm disgusted by Griffin's actions, I was equally repulsed by Nugent's comments about Obama, I fully support her right to perform them without fear of prosecution.

Find+replace 'liberal elite' with 'elite on the left' and what you said is still stupid. She's a comedian who only makes the news when she does something 'outrageous.' She's not any kind of elite nor is her behaviour representative of any movement of any political persuasion.

As for Nugent, the 'elite on the right' don't seem to have an issue with him. Best go review your talking points.
