i just got offered two tickets for the soldout show on fri at the greek. the pair is being given to me for $325...is this an absurd amount of money, or is it warranted seeing how ive NEVER seen these guys live and have been a HUGE fan for years. im considering the purchase seeing how the show isnt following an album release which means they have the freedom to play WHATEVER they want.

so whats your limit on seeing these guys...?

Free is as high as I'd pay.

I've seen them once and there's no way I'd pay that much to see them again.

The only band I'd be willing to shell out that kinda cash for is Pink Floyd if they reunited and did a tour.

I'd seriously consider paying that.

Their two concerts here sold out in just over a minute or something. I missed them on their Hail to the Thief tour because of the Toronto blackout, since I was back in Edmonton when the rescheduled show ran.

From all I've seen and heard, they're one of the best live bands in the world. Damn, I'd love to go.

You could save a LOT of money by going to Walmart, buying two pencils, and jamming them in your ears.

While not my favorite band I understand paying a lot for a concert. I would pay upwards of that if it were my only chance to see a favorite band.

they sold out here within seconds, too. I wish i could've gone, i'd love to see them live. Probably won't get to for a while, though. I saw tickets to the MSG show on ebay soon after it sold out for $200+/ticket. for that price, i'll stick to the CDs for a while longer

Oh, and to Jim Paradise, part of pink floyd is reuiniting and touring in september after Roger Waters' tour for his solo album. They're performing DSotM, even. But, if there's one show that'll sell out faster than radiohead, it's a pink floyd show. so, good luck getting tickets to that one.

Seen them at Soldier Field. Tickets were $35 and I had an extra one that I sold for $80 in the parking lot. Of course this was '94.

It depends on how much you want to. I would not go even if they were free, but thinking about seeing one of my favorite bands that doesn't come to the US, my wife and I were planning on travelling to Europe to see them. It is worth that much to us. Fortunately they came here in March and saved us a boatload of $$$, but we still took 2 days off from work and travelled to see them.

If the seats are decent, I'd pay $350 for the pair. Seriously, this is pure market economics folks - they are worth that much because people willing to pay that much. I just paid $150/ea for decent seats at a Cirque de Soliel show (maybe not your bag...). Some people can afford $500 for a night out, others can't.

This Radiohead mini-tour is pretty much only small venues. I saw them at the Theater at MSG 2 weeks ago, and they were awesome. The difference between a 4000-5000 seat venue, and a 10,000+ venue is quite big. In my case - at the Theater - there truly wasn't a bad seat in the house.

I don't know how many more opportunities there will be to see them in such a small venue in the future.

Luck you! That must've been a hell of a concert. A friend of mine caught them in what must've been '93 or '94 in Toronto, and I can't deny there's a bit of envy over that.

I heard about that. I'd be willing to go, but I wouldn't be willing to pay disgusting amounts of money to see it; it'd have to be a full reunion for me to dip that deep into the wallet.

If it were the only option, I might pay that much to see Tool

As far as expensive tickets go, $325 for the pair doesn't approach the good-seat single ticket prices that Pavarotti got last fall. And those are cheap compared to Barbra Streisand's upcoming shows.

All depends on how much you want it.

Rocket & UFO During Radiohead Concert

I am the House Photographer for Viejas Entertainment. Viejas Entertainment was putting on the big sold out Radiohead concert (6/27/06) when just at dusk the rocket launch from Vandenberg (Air Force Base) occurred. All eyes went off the stage and to the sky. While I was watching the rocket I saw a shiny object moving above and apparently way beyond the roof top of the stage. It was not a camera glitch or dirt on the sensor (just had the sensor cleaned a week ago) and you can see that the object was moving and not on the same spot on the photo as the previous shot.

It was not a bird either....it's hard to tell distances but it seemed to be further and higher then a bird would have been visible. And as I watched it move....it moved not like a bird. Kind of sauntering or floating. Then in an instant....poof....it disappeared! I even have shots of the same scene seconds later and....rocket trail still there but no UFO.

On the close ups it's clear to see that a flying saucer was watching the launch ;-) And I will say this....that rocket had a top secret payload and spy satellite on it and was the largest rocket ever launched on the West Coast ;-) They're watching us :-)) Below are 6 photos, including the close ups. Oh I've sent along a few shots from the Radiohead concert as well. After watching these guys I can understand why a UFO might be hanging around !! Radiohead is like from another planet !!!

Take Care

I would never ever pay more than €50 for tickets. It's just not worth it for me. I don't really like concerts anyway. I'd rather buy the CD.

most i've paid for concert tickets where 3rd row KISS/Aerosmith tickets at Comerica Park shortly after the 'blackout' a few years back. Anyway, the tickets where $175 each. i usually don't go to shows if they are over $50.

now, my all-star and super bowl where more than that

A few of my friends say they're absolutely amazing, live, so I'd say you'll probably get what you paid for.

I personally couldn't justify such an expense, however.

Man..... thats tough..... I saw them in Philly a few weeks ago, and they were great (as usual) but not as great as they were the past couple times I saw them. $325 is pretty damn high, and unless they they have got it together a bit more since then... If it's right down front maybe ...... but anything farther back than 3rd row center I might pass.

I saw them years ago when they opened for REM. They didn't seem too into it. I was impressed by his ability to sing while drinking a beer (liquid going down and sound coming out at the same time). Not sure how you pull that off.

Well, MOST of us realize that most UFO sightings are nothing to get excited about.

I'd have paid to see them. Lots of radiohead haters in here. I'm surprised by that. while I didn't love HTTT, I do really like the band, and as someone said before, there aren't going to be a lot more times you can see them.

I regret not paying $100 to see bjork one time before her music went completely over my head.
