Watching the activation video for the iPhone, the video originally shows that the iPhone has a capcity of 7.23gigs (or something like that).

However, after they syncing is done, the total capacity of the iPhone goes up to 80gigs!

I assume this is a glitch with iTunes, but it is funny how it didn't get noticed by Apple before they posted the image!

They probably did the demo with an 80gb iPod attached to the computer.

It says 7.27 GB capacity at the top of the window, but at the bottom it adds up to 74.4 GB. That would be quite a weird glitch in iTunes. So they probably didn't do it with iTunes at all, but with a graphical mockup; this would also explain the hi res graphics in the movie. When they were doing the mockup somebody just forgot to chose sensible numbers at the bottom.

Bingo! Has to be a mockup. A little bit of an unfortunate one, since most of the Internets will be spinning this as "OMG 80GB IPHONE IS HERE!"

Time to lay this to rest... Apple has *corrected* the videos.

Asterisks used as I am holding my breath for "One more thing...".

I was just about to write that they would correct this before the day was out. Looks like they didn't even wait that long. Kind of surprising that a detail like that slipped through, though.

That was a big one for sure. But I have a feeling that things over in Cupertino are INSANE right now. This is one point where I'm glad I don't work there right now. I think stuff like this is gonna get through the quality control systems. But they fix it quick, which is typical of Apple.
