Is the 2gb standard ram config enough ram for the casual user? (ie: emailer, websurfer, youtuber, iChater, Quickbooks Pro, and occasional Word user). Or is it ESSENTIAL to upgrade to 4gb. I know that 160gb of HD will last forever since iTunes and iPhoto will be going on a NAS.

Essential for the casual user? No. But definitely more comfortable. Especially if you want to use those apps side by side without swapping (->lag).

Keep in mind 2x2GB DDR3 SO-DIMMs aren't expensive. Newegg has 2x2GB for as low as $81 shipped.

then the extra $100 Apple wants for the 4gb upgrade is not such a bad deal. Thanks for the feedback! Much appreciated...
