I want to get a second dock for my iPod. Is the separately sold one going to be big enough for my 30 GB iPod?

No. the 30GB iPod will not fit in the 10/15GB iPod dock. I am surprised that Apple has not cited this one their site.

That is quite strange...but it's true. Apple should've thought this out a bit more before having to design two seperate sized bases, that's simply another added production cost they could've cut if they would've made the base a uniform item.

i heard that when you buy a separate dock, you will have 2 dock cover, one for the 10 & 15 gb, the other is for the 30gb, and you have to install it yourself. Once you put your dock cover, it is very difficult to remove after.

This makes a lot more sense than selling two separate docks.

What is the difference between the 10/15 gig dock and the 30 gig dock?

Thanks in advance.

Electrically, it's the same dock. But the 30GB dock has a thicker slot because the 30GB iPod is thicker. That's all.

Very cool! Apple was smart to do it this way.
