Hey sorry for the stupid question but I think I'm going insane. For some reason I just can't figure out how to make it so that when the screen saver goes off it logs me off. Same thing when if I close the laptop. I have done this before a long time ago.. and one day and it reset for some reason and I can't remember/ figure out how to get it back to the way it was.

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for but...
Go to System Preferences>Security and check "Require password to wake this computer from sleep or screen saver."
Hope this helps, Jason

Try the Security preference pane and enable "Log off after period of inactivity"
Can't double-check, not on my mac.

I think JAB's suggestion is what you want. That is more straightforward than the inactivity option because it depends on the screensaver's operation (which is itself based on inactivity), rather than having two different inactivity timers working. That could cause some issues if you decided to change the timeout on one but not the other...

thanks for the help guys. Yah the "require password to wakeup" ended up being the solution.
