Hey everyone,

I unfortunately dropped my backpack, which was holding my MBP 17". It was in my Swiss Gear backpack + padded sleeve, but it happened to hit the corner of the MBP that was pretty much lacking of padding.

I was wondering if there was any websites that sold the bodies for MBP's. Also, how hard would it be to completely transpose the innards to a new case? The damage seems to be localized to the lower left-hand corner of logic board part of the case. There appears to be some flex in the case now (rocks on a flat surface).

Currently running diags on some components (especially worried about the surface scan on the HDD).

Any responses are welcomed. Perhaps this is just a sign for me to upgrade though haha. Those new i7's are looking quite impressive.

Well, I just eBay'd one for $35+$15 shipping. Not bad considering retail repair shops are charging $250+/$99+ for new/used

Hey guys, it's me (XTTX). I decided to order a new bottom case (used) from eBay for $50 shipped. Will post pictures of an installation once I receive the part/decide to do the installation. Busy with finals and everything though. Also decided to upgrade my HDD from 250 GB to 500 GB (Newegg.com - Seagate Momentus 7200.4 ST9500420AS 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive -Bare Drive).

Just replaced the case today. Everything seems to be working well, but I lost one screw for the outer case.
