...it should be here in a week or so. I also ordered a wireless Mighty mouse, but that, for whatever reason, will take an extra week.

The Macbook will replace my wife's aging iMac G5 rev A. I was ready to buy her the 17 inch Macbook pro for scads more $$$ but she did not like it. She did not like how her arms/hands sat on it to get to the keyboard, and she preferred the Macbook keyboard feel as well. She does not like the glossy screen but thinks she can live with it. Let me restate that, she loves the brightness and crispness, but is worried a great deal about the glare.

I bought her the 2.0 core duo version with 2GB ram and a 120GB hard drive. She also liked the white over the black.

Looking forward to getting it and trying to grab it from her to play with it. I also ordered her a bluetooth laptop portable mouse from newegg... The mouse will be here first.

We went to the Apple store down in Phoenix (maybe it's in Scottsdale, I don't know, the borders blend)... she tried them both (macbook and pro). I also asked her if she wanted the latest iMac but she declined... she wanted something new (different), and portable. She's so cute.

I was surprised, but should not have been now that I think about it, that they have no wireless mice out to try. Makes sense tho' as everyone would walk off with them. They were also OUT of the wireless mighty mouse so I had to order online. I tried the wired version and it actually worked better than I had expected. I had heard a lot of talking down about it, but I had no problems with the buttons and they are fairly programmable. The ball felt a little weird but it was easy enough to get used to.

Anyway... looking forward to receiving our new purchases.

I don't think the word "aging" shouldn't be used in your post.

My computer is aging, pal.

I don't know about everyone else but I'd gladly take an "aging" iMac G5.

Bravo. This must be the first time a wife didn't get a hand-me-down and got a better computer than her husband. Bravo.

Well swing by, Rumor, and we'll see just how good you are. Maybe it will earn you her old G5.

Ooo! I've got two Lombards on my bed right now, one of them doesn't work. I have to figure out why. Hopefully one will make a nice email/iChat machine.

I thought about picking up one of these this weekend (since it's tax free day).

Two things holding me back:
- No Express card slot
- No backlight keyboard. (I kind of like that on my Powerbook.)

If I end up getting a Macbook Pro then I might as well wait because that's too expensive to qualify for tax free day anyway.
- MacBook Air M2 16GB / 512GB
- MacBook Pro 16" i9 2.4Ghz 32GB / 1TB
- MacBook Pro 15" i7 2.9Ghz 16GB / 512GB
- iMac i5 3.2Ghz 1TB
- G4 Cube 500Mhz / Shelf display unit / Museum display
