Since both systems are boat anchors, I'd guess that the former will sink faster than the latter. That seperate LCD could provide a lot of drag.

edit: I missed the word upgraded.

Don't know what you will run on it, but a floor guy at the Phoenix Apple store intimated to me that Leopard will likely not be supported on a G3 (we were talking about all the macs I have and that I was thinking of giving my wife's old G5 iMac to my daughter to replace her G3 iMac - and he gave me a welllllll Leopard is coming out soon and... - and wouldn't finish the sentence so I had to prompt him "you mean it won't support G3's anymore?"... and he said he couldn't say for sure either way as he nodded.

So I don't know. The G4 might be the way to go for now.

dont listen to ANY sales person at ANY store...they all have their personal agendas. id be very surprised if leopard will stop supporting g3's but id welcome it.
NOW YOU SEE ME! 2.4 MBP and 2.0 MBP (running ubuntu)
