So, Spotlight pretty much sucks on Leopard. It will not search my Library folder, despite ctrl+opt+spacebar, then hitting the '+', and enabling the system folder, but than is another issue entirely.

My problem recently is that I'll ctrl+spacebar, type in something, and it does nothing at all. No whirly thing, nothing. Then I'll click on the desktop or window to close it, and you will see the completed search flash just as it closes. Open again, and there it is, search compete.

Does that make sense, and does anyone have any ideas? It is not an indexing problem at all, as when I reopen the Spotlight window, everything is there, and I just reindexed an hour ago to see if it had anything to do with it. Wife's computer works great!
