I've seen a few reports here on the stainless version ... presumably heavier than the aluminum?

Anyone with any experience? Does it cool? Work on your lap? Fit in your bag? Over $50 U.S. seems a bit steep ... but I guess if it works it's worth it ...

That web site's comparison prices are out of whack. The CyberCooler NB-600 3 fan runs off USB and costs $7.00 on eBay, not $28.00 as they claim. Cheap plastic, but very functionally effective and nearly silent running.

I think they're quoting Canadian Suggested Retail Prices, in U.S. Dollars. Plus, approx. $12 of their $52 is for shipping.

Bottom line: yes, $52 for bent small sheet of aluminum is steep ... however, I'm unable to find either more effective and/or more elegant for less.

Good question mainemanx. Now I'm curious too. Anyone with real-world experience with this product?

My thoughts exactly. I still would recommend the podium cool pad over the aluminum stand.

I am just saying that if you really like this product you can buy a sheet of aluminum for a couple of bucks and bring it to a local shop with a break and make it yourself. Their overhead has got to be next to nothing, and $12 for shipping that, come on, my PB had free shipping. Anyways, I am not going to tell someone else how to spend their money, I just think it's alot for the product and they are taking advantage of mac users. I could maybe see $30 as a fair price.
