New car, new ipod connection... I may actually listen to more music in the car than before. But my iPod playlists are sadly kid-centric so I need to make more. Luckily I got some itunes gift cards for christmas.

Driving playlist: go. Post itunes or youtube links!

Let's start with BTO's Let It Ride and Roll On Down the Highway. Steppenwolf's Born to be Wild and Magic Carpet Ride. Then I'd add Golden Earring's Radar Love and Meat Loaf's Bat out of Hell (full version).

Yeah, I'm kind of old fashioned.

Try the sublime Exile on Coldharbour Lane by the Alabama 3 (or A3 as they are known in the US)

iTunes - Music - Exile On Coldharbour Lane by Alabama 3

You may know "Woke Up This Morning" as the theme tune to the Sopranos, it just rolls along. I love driving to it, it actually slows you down, but many tracks on this album are great road songs.
This space for Hire! Reasonable rates. Reach an audience of literally dozens!

amber - 311
mahgeetah - my morning jacket
surf wax america - weezer
slow country - gorillaz

This car's engine is so damned quiet I can't hear it! May as well crank the tunage.

Oh you pretty Chitty Bang Bang,
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
We love you.

And, in
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
What we'll do.

Near, far, in our motorcar
Oh what a happy time we'll spend.
Bang Bang Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
Our fine four fendered friend.

Oh you pretty Chitty Bang Bang
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
We love you.

And, in
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
What we'll do.

Near, far, in our motorcar
Oh what a happy time we'll spend.
Bang Bang Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
Our fine four fendered friend.

Your sleek as a thoroughbred.
Your seats are a feather bed.
You'll turn everybody's head today.

We'll glide on our motor trip
With pride in our ownership
The envy of all we survey.

Oh Chitty You Chitty
Pretty Chitty Bang Bang
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
We love you.

And Chitty, in Chitty
Pretty Chitty Bang Bang
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang what we'll do.

Near Chitty, far Chitty,
in our motorcar
Oh what a happy time we'll spend.

Bang Bang Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
Our fine four fendered friend.

That song believe it or not, I think I have due to kids soundtracks. I'm annoyed that the steppenwolf/bto/meatloaf/acdc classic rock CDs have been misplaced in a move somewhere...

Arctic Monkeys remind me of the White Stripes for some reason, except, well, british. Then again, they also sound familiar just because.

Since lee hyori was born in 1979, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was released in 1968, I don't think so...

Well now this depends on how and what you drive, doesn't it?

Okay, get in. Buckle up. Tighter maybe. Hold on. Here we go...

The Angels - Take a Long Line
Cold Chisel - Yakuza Girls
Screaming Jets - C'mon
The Angels - I Ain't the One
The Angels - Mr Damage
ACâš¡DC - Riff Raff
Iron Maiden - Killers
Guns n' Roses - Right Next Door to Hell
The Cruel Sea - The Honeymoon is Over

... and we have safely arrived at our destination. You look pale. I saw you looking worried when the cops were behind us, but I told you we'd lose 'em. You're safe now. Are you okay? Hello?

The Fine Art of Surfacing by the Boomtown Rats.

I loved this album in the 80's, when I was a wee lad, and it still stands up as a classic record. The remastered version is outstanding, as well, despite me normally despising remastered versions of albums dear to my heart.

Andi, did you ever get the Foster the People album?

That concert was last night and they were amazing live!
Mark Foster is so damn talented it hurts. Singing, Drums, Keyboard and guitar... the kid does it all.

I Can't Drive 55 - Sammy Hagar

It lost some of its relevance when they upped the limit to 65, but the song still has meaning.

Thought the 6.99 deal for monsters and Men album was a good deal, well Amazon has it for 1.99 today, and other albums:

Amazon.com: My Head Is An Animal: Of Monsters And Men: MP3 Downloads

doh!

Who else is good on this page? Lana Del Ray seems worth a shot:
