Apologies if this is a silly question but will the Apple TV be able to handle streaming Hi-Def content? I have Hi-Def home video footage on my iMac that I'd like to be able to stream to my TV via the APple TV. Is this going to work?

Apparently yes- as long as it complies with the supported formats-
but when Apple decides to change their store content is another story. I'm assuming the hi-def thing is part of the hold-up, honestely.

(From Apple's site)
Video formats supported: H.264 and protected H.264 (from iTunes Store): 640 by 480, 30 fps, LC version of Baseline Profile; 320 by 240, 30 fps, Baseline profile up to Level 1.3; 1280 by 720, 24 fps, Progressive Main Profile. MPEG-4: 640 by 480, 30 fps, Simple Profile

As ccrider says, you'll have to convert it to a format usable by the Apple TV (assuming it isn't already in one of those formats) but it should work. Streaming HD is one of the main selling points of the point of the Apple TV. Of course, with an 802.11n network, you probably won't be able to handle streaming HD, and may have to rely on the Apple TV's hard disk for caching content.
