Probably the best game of the tournament so far.. the teams were very well matched, and if I remember correctly, it had the most on target shots of any of the games so far. Some exteremly skill-full keeping to go with the creative play.

Wow what a game, that totally blows the group wide open. If I'm right in my head, Latvia can qualify if they beat the Dutch, and Germany lose to the Czech's. But I may be wrong.

Van Nistelrooy totally rules the off side law, can't even keep an eye on him.

Holland v Czech Rep...

All I can say is WOW!

Best game I have seen for years, if not ever.

Heres hoping Spain v Portugal can live up to it...

Now that SHOULD be a good game.. two closest contries, and big rivals.

Expect both teams to be pushing things to the limit.

It's a VERY important game for Portugal, because if they loose - they're out.

Click here fore some facts and stats about both teams.

wow czeckoslovakia! that was an awesome game! if germany beats this team i'll be really REALLY surprised. i wish nedved's 35 m meter strike had gone in. would have been sweet.

greece is going to win tonight 1:0 and portugal is going to send spain home 3:1 (or so i hope)

Now that would be a result, but somehow I don't think it's realistic...

I'll take a fiver for 2:1 to Portugal

Oli Kahn is going to be a busy man when the Czechs play Germany, I think

As for Potugal-Spain, I think it's anyone's guess, but claiming that Portugal is better than Spain because Portugal beat Russia is not really wise, I think, because the Russians played so abysmally. I think Spain will win 2-1 or 1-0.

Portugal 1-0 Spain

Greece 2-0 Russia

I really hope Portugal win today. They have to or they're out of the tournament. That would really suck for them, being the hosts.

Both matches at the same time today? Just when I was getting used to my daily 4 hrs+ of 'build-up-match-highlights'

The number of missed goals in the Portugal Spain game was amazing with both Spain and Portugal missing two wide open opportunities each, but Portugal played extremely well otherwise. The way they so often stole the ball between Spanish passes was simply brilliant and they certainly have the Italian/Brazillian flair for the game. Spain was simply poor in this game, never really fighting for the ball.

The Greeks certainly underestimated the Russians and were incredibly lucky that they got their goal. If they hadn't Spain would be in...

Portugal fought hard and deserved their win. But it was a scrappy performance, there are too many ego's in that team.

He's hugely talented. All they've got to do is teach him that those other players on the pitch, the ones wearing the same shirts as him, they're his team-mates, and sometimes he needs to pass to them instead of trying to be a superstar. All those fancy step-over techniques don't mean a thing when he's trying to go it alone all the time.

I have to change those results because England has to be the winner of group B - otherwise there won't be a chance for Germany vs. England in the final

Croatia vs. England 1:2
France vs. Swiss 1:1

In all honesty, I wouldn't be surprised if you haven't hit it with this prediction, even though I'm a France fan. The amount of acrimonious accusations within the French team after the Croatia draw has really messed with their team morale. It reminds me of WC 2002 where France fell to pieces after losing their first match. It will be a fascinating game, I think, where France will probably either rally under pressure (and they certainly can do this, to be fair) and thrash the Swiss like the English did, or collapse completely and end up even perhaps losing and going out of the competition. I think though, that the fact that France is under pressure will at least help them avoid being too relaxed against the Swiss, for whom this game means everything.

The English team is definitely better than the Croatian team in terms of team work and skill, but the only player with real aggressive striking attitude is Rooney, I think. So, I think England will win but might concede a goal to the Croatians. The factors influencing this game are than no less than 9 (!) Croatian players have been yellow carded and that certainly stands to be able the crippling of the Croatians if they play one man down against the English since the Croatians tend to play dirty. On the other hand, the Croatians will be marking Rooney, and if he loses his temper and gets booked, he will also be out. But I think England is probably going to thrash the Croatians.
