Can someone confirm this is the ram we need for our macbooks? I'm about 95% sure it use, 200 pin pcs 5300 dual sticks, right?

Either way, incredible price on Fry's right now, after $30.00 mail in rebate. Still a great deal without the rebate.

Its Crucial ram. Really, it gets no better. I jumped on this deal yesterday, however it does involve a rebate, but Fry's / Crucial are good about them.

it says the rebate is only valid from 7/3/07 to 7/5/07 so does that mean i can order it today and still get the rebate or does the rebate have to be mailed in by today?

You just have to order it today. That line sounds a bit confusing, so I read the actual rebate form, it just said valid only for ram purchased on te 4th or the 5th.

That said, evem if in some wierd chance you DON'T get the reabte, it's still a pretty good deal....Crucial charges $110 plus shipping.

You can order today. You'll include a copy of your receipt, and that's how they'll confirm you bought it within the date limits.
Sell or send me your vintage Mac things if you don't want them.

I got mine as well.. I was a little dissapointed with the speed increase, I guess I wanted some more... That's the problem when your only other ram upgrade took a machine from 256 to 768...

Darn! I always miss the good deals on Macbook RAM. I may just go ahead and buy it for $74.99 but probably not. I will try to wait for another deal like this.

Where is the UPC code to send in with the rebate? There isn't one on the package the RAM was in.

If the Macbooks come with 1GB in one slot already, and has a max of 2GB, why buy 2x1GB?

Oh! I just confirmed that in system profiler. Oops, sorry.

Do they have to be paired? So you can't go 1gb + 512mb?

You can but Apple recommends paired sticks. They say it will help performance but I think tests have shown that the difference is very minimal.

I never found a UPC code. For anyone who did, was it in the plastic container? I'm afraid mine may have fallen out into the mailing envelope, which I've already tossed. I understand the UPC is very small and was just inserted into the container.

Huh? Crucial.com was $90 for a pair of sticks a few weeks ago, now it's $105 for the pair. 2x1GB hasn't been $180 for over a year!
