Does the agreement on a Hotline or Carracho server actually protect the owner? Lots of servers have agreements that say "You cannot continue if you are affiliated with any kind of law enforcement." That just seems stupid to me, but does it work?

I wouldn't think they'd be legally binding but then I never heard of one tested in court, either.

I'm going to say no, since the government doesn't seem too concerned with following any laws/agreements at the moment.

a law enforcement officer working undercover doesn't have to admit they're law enforcement if asked.

additionally, law enforcement can go pretty much anywhere they want if they have a legally sound warrant.

if someone is dealing drugs in their house and the five-oh have a warrant to search the house, then a doormat out front reading 'No cops allowed' isn't going to stop them.

Linfidels harken! 'The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.'

No, it's never worked for a website...

Several child porn, hacking, and other illegal content websites have attempted this.

Never heard of any actually being protected by this during trial.

Carracho doesn't do anything so different that would make it an exception.

A software license is different, it proclaims the copyright, and rights of the user.

Releasing all liability from the owner of a website who knowing distributes illegal information/products is completely different.

Just like a prostitute can't be protected by asking a potential client if they are a cop.

If EULAs work then this does. Neither has been tested in court.
I could take Sean Connery in a fight... I could definitely take him.
