LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Two women in their 70s were charged Monday with having homeless men killed in hit-and-run car crashes to collect more than $2 million in life insurance.

I never would have thought two old ladies would do something like that. Article says the charges also carry the possiblity of a death sentence. They'd probably die on death row before their turn ever came up anyways.

Sometimes I worry I'll just be old and boring, but these two ladies gave me hope.

Why do you doubt that old ladies would do something like that? Do you think evil goes away with age?

If I were one of the target guys, this would have made me a bit suspicious.

Do people not realize that if you take out a huge life insurance policy on someone then they suddenly die unexpectedly, a tad bit of suspicion could fall on you? I've seen enough TV/movies to know what will happen.

I think this is the first time I've ever agreed with you.

Those shows are probably a little past these women's time.

It's not that evil goes away with age, but you'd think evil like that would have gotten these ladies busted earlier in life. It seems odd for them to reach that age and then become evil.

It's the granny gang from that Monty Python sketch.

I think as a society, we expect The older generation to be a little more honorable, since the stereotype always attacks the younger generation to be lacking in nobility, honor, respect, etc.
That's why we're surprised when things like this happen. Truth be told though, I'm appaled at Insurance fraud by anybody. Greed is bad stuff.

I must admit, I’m slightly more appalled at the multiple counts of premeditated murder than the insurance fraud.

And this from someone who (semi-indirectly) works for about 50 insurance companies!

That will teach those profiling supporters. Custom officials must pat down children, adults and seniors, regardless of race.

Old people are becoming a major road issue. There should be laws requiring yearly driving checks for people over 70.

Working in a grocery store you get all kinds, and old people are the leading cause of parking lot mishaps.

Twice I've seen a little old lady backing out of the handicapped spot, head barely poking above the dashboard, bump into the car behind them. Both times they drove off like it isn't their fault that they can't drive.

On the end of our parking lot islands we have big 2' by 2' rocks so that people will see the island and not run up over it. One day an elderly couple were pulling out at an angle, and scraped the hell out of their fender. They kept driving untill the rock was wedged into their Buik's wheel well. Naturally the car was stuck. The first thing the elderly man did was demand to see a manager and throw a fit about how someone must have moved the rock so that he would hit it when he backed out. The rock had to weigh over 200lbs for christ's sake!

I know, I know... one day I will be old. But sometimes its so damn ridiculious what they can get away with. At least we draw the line at murder and insurance fraud.
are you lightfooted?

Getting old doesn't have to mean getting stupid. If I ever become a drooling moron, I hope my family has the decency to lock me up somewhere and not let me drive.
