Was this guy really in a cave for three years?

I'm skeptical. Was it dark in the cave? He looks awfully good for being in complete isolation. I would have thought he'd be a bit more on the unstable side. And why doesn't he have a wikipedia entry or any comments on the youtube video?
Anyone have any information on this guy? A google search reveals little.

Rather unlikely. Unless he was doing fitness training in there. His muscles would have withered and he'd be a whole lot paler after three and three quarter year in total darkness and isolation living on fluids alone.

Well, he very well might have been doing some kind of physical activity — to provide sustenance for himself if nothing else. I don't think the idea is that he was just lying in the cave for three years, is it?

Bet he was rather ripe, even for India.

So how did they know that he didn't want fruit anymore after a year and a half if there was no communication? And his eyes seemed to have adjusted really quickly for not seeing light for three and a half years.
He may have spent the time in the cave, but I don't think it was quite as isolated as they made it sound. (based on the four minutes youtube video)

From reading his site, it wasn't really a cave, it was a man-made underground room. It had a toilet and bathroom. It didn't say if there was light.
Having said that, 3 years in complete isolation is still pretty impressive. I couldn't do it.

What the nerd community most often fail to realize is that all features aren't equal. A well implemented and well integrated feature in a convenient interface is worth way more than the same feature implemented crappy, or accessed through a annoying interface.
