I have an irregular shaped mini-cd I'm trying to look at on a Dual 867 Powermac with OS 10.2.5 and a combo drive and it will not mount. However, it will on an older Powermac 500 (or so) w/OS 9.2.2 and a CD-ROM drive. Any idea why it wont work on the Jaguar machine?

Thanks,
James

You're trying to use a mini CD in a slot loader?

Ummm... STOP IT.

You risk extreme peril.

Who mentioned slot loading drives?

What is a Powermac 500?

I have no idea why it won't work in OS X. Sorry.

Its not a slot loader, guess I'll have to keep looking for an answer. Strange.

Actually, Mini-CDs are fully supported by Apple in slot loading drives.

80mm discs, as long as they are round are considered standard discs. However, only tray loading drives are recommended for oddly shaped (i.e. square or other non-circular shape)

Yes, but the PowerBook slotted drives will NOT accept 80mm mini-CD discs. This is stated in the tech article linked above (see note #2)
