I am dumbfounded that iCal seems to simply ignore alarms that are schedule for a time when the PB is asleep (i.e. most of the time it exists ).
I can understand if the machine doesn't wake up for them (though with the PMU it should be capable of that someday, right?) but I just can't understand why it doesn't realize that the alarm has passed and at least show me when it starts up.
Am I missing something really obvious?
How do people use the alarms?
Aside from this I am in love with my PowerBook
Thanks,

I agree with everything you've said and you aren't missing anything. Hopefully Apple will add more intelligent alarm handling in the next version of iCal.
