Since we're having discussions about fundamental human rights (speech, self-defense, etc.) and NEED, why not include some other parts of the Bill of Rights for discussion?

Some argue Twitter is becoming a utility, like the power company, or Google.

Very brief arguments, I'd imagine.

I don't get the premise: I don't think Twitter is vital to free speech. Blogs are, but you cannot shut down »all blogs«. I don't even get Twitter.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

Twitter is just a medium. To some people, twitter is easier than a blog, and as shown by recent international events, more accessible and easier to distribute.

Free Press and Free Speech is adapting from the print world. Censorship is censorship. So I wouldn't say that twitter itself is the right, but free speech. Same rules apply whether it is Twitter, a blog, or the Boston Globe. It's a venue, an outlet.

Twitter is to the First what 10-round-limited magazines are to the Second. Open your eyes, sheeple!

Sure.

People certainly want them to behave that way, and squak pretty hard when they don't.
