Did a fresh install of leopard (with all updates) for a friend on a MacPro (G5). He is trying to burn a dvd, but when he launches iDVD, he gets a spinning beach ball. Everything works fine, open, create new project, save. Once he saves the new project (but before he actually start working on it), the beach ball starts its spinning. Any ideas?

Yea... that's what I was thinking as I wrote it. Maybe it was still called a Powermac at the time, but, nonetheless, it is the all aluminum model with the holes front and back and it has a G5 processor. I have one in my lab at school as well.

I was thinking of having him try that. Is it something like com.apple.idvd.plist?

Yes, just do a search within the ~/Library folder to nail down the location and name.
Personally, I don't trash them immediately but rather move them to a new location. I prefer not initially deleting anything out of the library folder but that's me being paranoid.

Or just add .old to the name. Prune out .old out every so often.
