I'm ashamed of myself, I completely forgot until just now, as I've spent 15 mins on the phone getting it all set up.
*hangs head in shame*
But I'm getting Vonage now!
The woman on the phone gave the whole "You can save 50% or more on your phone bill" Then she asked what my current phone bill is. I told her, "$17/month". "Oh" was her reply.

It might actually be closer to $26 in real usage.
Basic service, I pay for a dial tone. Pay 8 cents for every outgoing call made. Zero features on the phone, no call waiting, caller ID, etc.

I'm not paying more.
Current phone bill comes out to be $57-$58, depending on usage.
It'll be $54.69 once the changes are done, and I'll get long distance and caller ID and such included in that.
Cell phone is $10/month , cable TV is a ripoff at $53
Overall my expenses will go down a few dollars, and that's a good thing. More money for food.
