Hi, I downloaded blueJ and it quits as I open it up. I have plenty of ram and everything and I'm using OSX 10.1.5 so I don't see what the problem is. In the faq on the website they mention some networking setup that you must have, something to do with a local host, but I can't figure it out. Is it just a buggy program?

Open the Terminal and enter 'java -version' and post the results. Since you are in 10.1.5, also post the results of entering 'echo $JAVA_HOME' in the Terminal.

thanks for the reply.
when I enter 'java-version' it says command not found. And when I type echo $JAVA_HOME it says undefined variable. When I type "echo '$JAVA_HOME' "it just says "$JAVA_HOME" as I'd expect from my shell scripting experience.

There is a space before -version...
java{space]-version

I was looking for more info about BlueJ (since I have used it without problems) and found on Apple's BlueJ download page that 10.2 is required.
