So this 'A Day Without A Woman' boycott... Does it seem to be counterproductive?
In the DC area, a school system will be closed so the liberal UNION teachers can be off that day, while inconveniencing lots of parents. Seems selfish and stupid.

Teacher strikes involve juggling needs other strikes don't.

Not saying that means teachers shouldn't strike, but it's delicate.

It isn't about inconvenience, it's the unique obligation teachers sign up for.

I'm going to guess D.C. voted overwhelmingly for Hillary. Who exactly is getting punished?

This misunderstands the point of protest. I'm sure when Rosa Parks refused to move to the back it made some black folk late, too. Protest isn't about punishment it's about sending a message.

The school system is Alexandria City, in Virginia. So, they bail from their jobs, and now parents have to scramble to find alternatives and some may have to miss work. Of course they will still be providing breakfast and lunch.

A protest in the form of a strike isn't leavening punishment into the recipe?

Yep. "Give us even more attention, on top of the overwhelming attention we already get."

Several ladies in the office were going to skip work, but when they realized it was w/o pay (because they didn't give sufficient notice for a personal holiday), and it would negatively impact their personnel review and future raises, they all changed their minds very quickly.

Flynn lobbied for Turkish-linked firm after election, documents show - POLITICO
Flynn's firm disclosed it was lobbying for Inovo in September but did not register with the Justice Department as a foreign agent. Robert Kelner, a lawyer for Flynn's firm, wrote in a letter to the Justice Department on Tuesday that the firm believed at the time that the congressional disclosure was sufficient but is now registered retroactively as a foreign agent.
I have no idea what to make of this.

Wilders understands that culture and demographics are our destiny. We can't restore our civilization with somebody else's babies.
I mean, sure, ignoring that America was built using other people's babies.

I think the only people we are allowed to call racist are BLM and pre-1960's Democrats.

Yeah.

Steve King's racially charged comments put Republicans on the spot | MSNBC

“You cannot rebuild your civilization with somebody else’s babies. You’ve got to keep your birth rate up and that you need to teach your children your values” and in doing so, then you can grow your population and you can strengthen your culture, you can strengthen your way of life,” King said.

King called Western Civilization a “superior culture” and said some cultures contribute more to American society than others.

“If you go down the road a few generations or maybe centuries with the intermarriage, I’d like to see an America that’s just so homogenous that we look a lot the same,” King added.

This is hardly the first racist comment from Rep. King and it won't be the last. However, I do find it interesting how he revealed the real motivation behind much of the conservative opposition to abortion.

A lull in craziness. I feel like it's been 4 or 5 days since the last earth shattering event.

What people say and what people mean doesn't always match as well as it should. That would be the main way I could see it not being racist.

there was an executive order yesterday allowing Director of the Office of Management and Budget to eliminate departments, if they can't "justify" themselves in 180 days. I'm sure no matter what excellent cases the departments make, the list for the axe is already made and waiting.

Goodbye EPA! Goodbye Education!

The departments have 6 months to do their audit, then the OMB gets six months to come up with recommendations on it.

I'm pretty sure the President can't whack a department, so he can't authorize someone else to do so. Congress makes and unmake departments.

I predict this may recommend whacking a few departments no one's heard of (IIUC there are over 400), but the bulk of the recommendations will be of the reorganization and budget cutting variety.

Both of these things need to get through Congress too.

It'll obviously recommend to slash the DoEd and the EPA. I'm not defending that, only trying to paint as clear a picture as possible.

Maddow "uncovered" that Trump paid $38M in taxes in 2005, double the percentage of the Clintons or Sanders.
