I have an operational IMac G4 but the screen is broken and I want to take the screen and neck off. How exactly should I go about this?

Welcome to the forums!

Looks like this topic was covered before (indirectly)....
http://forums.macnn.com/showthread.php?t=235368

but the best thing to do is to take it to an authorized Apple center and have them "amputate" the head and neck, but make sure they take the Airport antenna that wraps around the outer edge of the iMac LCD and reroute it to somewhere inside the iMac itself (if possible).
Hope this helps.
