Anybody hear about the 40th anniversary remaster of Star Trek? Apparently they're going back and doing TOS with CGI.

If Lucas were doing this, he'd probably add ridges to the Klingon heads.

It's done very well. Majel Rodenberry (Gene's Widow) said several years back that it was time to stop and let it rest again for a while. The executive producers of course said no to that as there was still blood to get out of the stone...

I think it's time to let it rest for a while. OTOH, there are some very good fan developments...

After enterprise they should have waited 10 years but looks like there is money to be had judging by the new movie.

After the 3rd season of Voyager IMO (and many would argue after TNG), they should've taken that 10 year break. Unfortunately, the bigwigs are Paramount understand that there is a dedicated fan base which will always pay regardless of what or when. They don't understand that they're killing their goose to get the golden egg.

From CNN:
Some "Trek" critics have even said the unsayable: It's time for "Star Trek" to declare victory and leave the field of battle, while it still has some dignity left and before the brand name is further tarnished.

Shatner and Nimoy, in their Mutt-and-Jeff way, don't buy it.

SHATNER: So you want Paramount to say we've made enough money?

NIMOY: Let's stop making money. Yeah.

SHATNER: Yeah, yeah.

NIMOY: The stockholders won't mind.

SHATNER: No, and we've --

NIMOY: We should stop making money.

SHATNER: Folks, we've made enough money, we're walking away

Specifics, please. Channel? Time? Etc. Searching gives me all kinds of syndication eps.

Reminds me of a Family Guy moment:

Picard: Number One, if I told you that Mr. Worf's head looked like a fanny, would you join me in a laugh?

Riker: Why, yes.

Picard (loudly): Hey, everyone! Mr. Worf's head looks like a fanny!

(Both laugh)

Worf: You can both suck my ridges!

A little late to the party, but I have fond memories.

I grew up watching TOS reruns as a kid. And Star Trek inspired the love for science, tech, and beautiful women that I have today.

I've watched pretty much every episode of Trek since TOS through ENT and all the movies.... (except the TAS spin-off).

I can't wait 'till this CGi remake of TOS comes out on DVD. I only wish i knew what station/network it'll be airing on as well.

Don't bully me, I got an Uzi... HOO-HAH!

Anyone watch the show tonight? The quality looked nice. I've not watched the DVD to be able to compare the difference in the enhanced footage. I noticed that some of the still shots during the credits were not from tonight's episode. Is that normal?
