MSN Won't Allow .Mac Emails?

Been using MSN for years as most of my friends use it, and had my email address...
[email protected] as my Passport login, and everything was working fine until today when I get an error message when I try and sign in.
Important service announcement: Because of a recent system update, you must change the e-mail address that you use to sign in to Windows Live(TM) Messenger. Until you change your e-mail address, you won't be able to use Windows Live(TM) Messenger.

When I head to this page (in firefox as it doesn't work in Safari) I am aksed to change my windows live ID, but whenever I try and change it to one of my .mac aliases I get an error..
It won't even let me use my gmail address.
Anyone else had this problem, and anyone been able to use MSN without having to resort to getting a hotmail account?

This may be of no help but what URL do you login at? I can't login at Expedia but can at Sign In. I then go back to Expedia to use it.

I also cannot use .mac to log into my msn address, gay.
I know there also some other people cannot log in to it with their .mac emall address.
It is not our faults but M$
