WITHOUT A DOUBT
iTunes now opens in 1/2 a bounce, and yes the visuals are faster
Enterogue, which took awhile to come forward now does so in less then a second!
VERY fast...</STRONG>
That is the result of restarting can clearing the VM.

Any info would be much appreciated, before I start to find a way to download it (56k but my Dad's workplace has broadband). </STRONG>
Yup. I've connected four times and the system hasn't hung once. Thank god. That's what I'd been waiting for most. The problem with iTunes skipping and crackling while using PPP Connect is also gone.

Before I go downloading 30Meg on 56k, can anyone tell me if the bug with SCSI cards stopping deep sleep has been fixed yet? If not, 10.1.1 seems to be working fine just now.

New cool feature!

open a Show Info window on a file or folder and play with your scroll wheel , not sure if this worked before.

Did my upgrade last night... thank God I have DSL!

Regarding the iTunes problem, I had my first exposure to the crackling problem after installing a test Encore Dual 500 CPU card. However, thanks to the suggestion from someone on the board, I was able to eliminate the noise by turning *off* the Sound Enhancer option in Preferences.

Hope that helps.

Yeah, that one's been around for a while. Very useful though.

Downloaded 10.1.2 a few hours ago. Everything was flawless. It may be a bit faster, too. Certainly, OmniWeb 4.1 SP20 and 10.1.2 make for the most pleasant OS X surfing experience I've had.

OH! new feature alert! Dragging disks to a hidden dock to eject them no longer works! swweeet. Dragging files to the hidden dock also does not make the dock visible so you basically just have an application switcher now.

Time to just wait i guess.

More likely to be a result of the re-prebinding of the entire system. (and there ARE some performance improvements in the OS as well, but not that basic)

The network improvements they speak of, reduce overall network overhead, reducing latencies by about 5%.

This means lower pings for games.

that modem connection is even better when the 30 MB download stops before the whole file is downloaded. OmniWeb got to 7 MB; Explorer to 1.5 MB. Looks like it's a trip to my brothers place 1.5 hrs away for his DSL.

I had the same prob, but it seems to be intermittent. Sometimes, no dock, sometimes yes. Maybe kill the Dock with Process Viewer, and see if it works after that?
