there has been a lot of talk and debate about OS X on Wintel.....but has anyone thought about what would be the bare min?

im thinking celeron's wouldn't be supported........
it would work....but it would be sooooo darned slow...

i would guess a PII 300 would be about the bare min. 128MB RAM

can you imagine trying to run it on a wintel laptop...geez that would suck. a p3 300 actually would be slow enough already i think. im impatient so i think everything crawls on a machine that slow.

Dammit Cipher13. You are simply an ignorant negative ass hole! You should actually do the rest of us a favor and stop writing.

I mean people, have you seen such hypocrisy, pretending to be a mac user - when all he/she/it does is to hack at MacOS X and the rest of us.

Stupid this, and stupid that... In my opinion you're stupid cipher13.

So SHUT IT!

Cipher, you know you're meant to be the most "popular" person round here...well you still are.
And I am thrilled to see someone thinking differently. So stuff them. Hell - you have a right to think differently too. Well done Cipher.

AND TO THE REST OF YOU

Would you stop friggin criticising someone that doesn't like a particular aspect of the Mac or Apple. I love OS X. So what if someone doesn't conform...

If I've said it once I'll say it again...

THATS WHY THERE ARE MENUS IN RESTERAUNTS!

Play it cool

( Every one - and I mean every one - has the RIGHT to think different.

Heck - just look at Apple. Get my point? )

I believe that Mac OS X will be immensely faster when it gets installed as the default operating system in all the macs in the summer. It simply has to be. I read in the OS X gen forums that the main reason for the sluggishish is because OS X really doesn't have too much (if any) hardware accleration via the graphics card. What this means is that OS X is just running via the processor and nothing else.

voodoo, you need to chill. cipher is allowed his opinion. also, the number of people in these forums that he has helped is higher than you can probably count to. I'm a newbie to macintosh computers, and he has helped me more times than i care to think about. so basically,....shut up

On behalf of Mr/Mrs/Ms Cipher13, I thank you (suprz) for standing up for him.
I'm sure he needs help when someone critcises him. Else he would have to EXPLAIN what he is talking about.

Tsk,tsk

Ahh, voodoo, again. People, try this if you can be bothered - if you search the AppleLinks forums, VooDoo posted there criticising me. One post, criticising me.

EVERY post of his at MacNN, just about, is replying to me, critically.

VooDoo, do you have to be such an immature jerk? Do I really have to request to get you banned?

I mean really...

You just seem so... unintelligent to me. So, I won't be mean, I'll take pity on you - but in my opinion, you need help, ok? Mental help.

Tell me where my hypocrisy lies, please. I am a Mac user - I criticise what I don't like, and praise what I do.

You obviously think being a Mac user entails praising every little thing Apple says or does.

I really, really pity you.

Go, run along, little boy. Take your pills, and play nice with the other children

suprz, georgius, thanks
